Description
A wounded warrior who feels unworthy of happiness.
A morally questionable miss with a wicked smile.
A steamy historical romance with found family, fierce loyalty, and a legendary happily ever after.
Owen Harrington went to war to become a hero. He came home a scarred and dangerous man—one who no longer trusts his hands, his honor, or his heart. Afraid of hurting those he loves, he lives in quiet exile, keeping the world at a careful distance.
Then Seraphina—called Finn by her friends—sweeps into his village and turns it topsy-turvy. Clever, dodgy, and utterly unafraid of Owen (or anything else), Finn refuses to treat him like a broken man in need of mending. She possesses undeniable beauty, reckless courage—and, he’s quite certain, a hidden agenda.
When forbidden desire ignites, Owen and Finn give in to sizzling hot passion. Owen struggles to contain longings he believes he has no right to claim, while Finn is torn between her secret purpose and the wayward yearning of her heart. Together they must confront hidden enemies and face their deepest fears for a chance at redemption—and to fulfill a long-standing prophecy of love.

“Love is the most important promise we make”.
Owen and Finn are courageous, vulnerable and passionate. I loved their undeniable chemistry and their journey to a forever love.

One mysterious legend, four siblings, four seasons and this is the grand finale of the Blackwood Legacy series!
Ever since book 1 Owen has been crawling out of a deep dark hole. Nightmares, panic attacks, survivor’s guilt. War, imprisonment and addiction left deep emotional scars. The worst of them: ending his brother’s career. Designing gardens and bringing them to life are his new purpose, but love will forever be beyond his grasp. He simply cannot inflict his cursed self upon a wife.
Orphan, skilled sharpster, riddle solver and leader of the Hawks, Finn is an unlovable nobody (or so she believes). Manipulation and blackmail brought them to Chudleigh Bottoms, masking as a medium and her assistants to recover a treasure – a priceless parure. The jewels are linked to Bloody Thom’s legend, a.k.a. the curse the Blackwood Ladies have been trying to lift.
And that’s where their worlds collide. Except, Finn tricked Owen before, and he’s not about to let her hurt his kin. Stealing his heart however, that’s a different story.
I’m not about to ruin your fun and spoil the mystery, but trust me, it’s a doozy! Rose & Thom have a few tricks up their sleeve 😉😉
So I’ll yap about the romance. It’s yummylicious creative quick-heat x irresolute slow-burn. I’ll be honest, I feel ridiculously protective of Owen, and Finn made me iffy. Her hidden agenda is heavy with deceit, but, redeeming factor, she had a guilty conscience. But, she eventually grew on me as their bond developed, revealing her own tragic scars. Poor lamb didn’t have it easy.
Now Owen finally conquering the edge of his misery, is something I’ve been looking forward to – he’s been pulling on my heartstrings for 3 books! – and to see these 2 traumatised peas-in-a-pod heal each other ripped and restitched my heart. Rocky & rewarding. They’re the definition of kintsugi!
Also, I loved the variations on family in this story. Hers found and precarious, his lovingly pushy, and then there’s the village – yes, sometimes it takes an entire nosy, opinionated village for a HEA.
In short: a fulfilling ending to a wonderful series!

Only Grace can give me a meet-cute where he eats her out like an absolute King and then passes out from her drugged tea so she can steal his shoes … and I’m CHARMED! The final book in the Harrington family series, and another Classic GC. We’ve got high heat, an instantly down-bad man, and a bonkers level plot with treasure hunt hijinks and ghosts. I inhaled this book and loved every wild minute of Finn and Owen’s love story.
Owen is just like his brothers, and a classic GC hero: tortured, In Love, protective, and more than Giving in the bedchamber. These men are hot blooded and know instantly what they want, which makes these romances feel like a whirlwind. Even after their meet-cute Owen plays nice when Finn shows up in Chuddleigh Bottoms playing at a Medium who can speak to Ghosts (she can’t, but then does because there’s some very real ghosts in this series). And is more than happy to continue giving her no-strings pleasure while absolutely growing his own strings and following her around like a simp.
While he suffers from PTSD this wasn’t a prominent part of the story, and I was thankful for that since we got to witness enough of his broody suffering in the prior series. His loyalty to his family, though, is ever present and is ultimately the result of his guilt from the past. Does this feel a tad insta love/lust at times? Sure. But I feel like that’s just so on-brand for this family – they love Hard and are loyal to the bone.
Finn was also a really great character, and her motivations for deceiving Owen and his family are appropriately high-stakes. She’s trying to save her own family, the ragtag bunch who call themselves The Hawks. And ultimately you side with Finn because we get to experience the guilt she’s experiencing and her desire to open up to this caring family. The ghost elements have been sprinkled throughout the series, and it was nice to finally get the conclusion to this underlying story. It provided a bit of intrigue to what could have been a sleepy small town. But instead it’s a quirky bunch of residents with a layered history.
Overall, I was really happy with this conclusion to the series about a close-knit family all finding their HEAs and solving a small-town ghost mystery along the way. Finn and Owen were a great couple to take us into the finale, and like all of GC’s books we’re given a steamy delight of a time with a dash of hijinks and a whole lot of love. Grace, please never stop giving us these addictive romances that are so very hot!
