“This book is a joy. Loved every page. Keep a fan handy, the sex scenes are some of the best written erotic scenes…hot hot hot!!” -Miriam, Goodreads
“This book has easily become one of my favorites….If you love Elizabeth Hoyt, I strongly suggest this book for you!” -Sara, Goodreads
“I’ve read most of Grace’s books, but this one is still my number one because Ambrose and Marianne are complete opposites and they somehow end up being absolutely perfect for each other. Their romance is sexy, heartfelt, and so swoonworthy. Ambrose is an absolute dreamboat. He’s honourable, loyal, steadfast, and intelligent–exactly the type of man Marianne needs. Marianne also has such a way with Ambrose, always riling him up just so she could see him lose control. And whenever the usually coolheaded Ambrose loses control, the pages of the book are in serious danger of burning up.” –Romance Library
“Highly recommend this if you enjoyed books like Lady Sophia’s Lover or Marrying Winterbourne and crave that same fiercely protective/stoic but mostly soft countenance/self-made hero archetype—in this book, you’ll get all of that and more.” -Shaira, Goodreads
“Grace Callaway outdoes herself in this third installment of the super steamy, adventure-filled Mayhem in Mayfair series …. Her Protector’s Pleasure is a must-read for those who like their historical romance with plenty of adventure, humor, and sizzling hot sex.” –The Indie Voice
“This novel is truly fantastic. I loved the heroine, she is so strong and determined and smart, and the hero is her perfect equal in every way. The storyline behind her past is truly captivating and there were scenes where I literally had to put the book down because I was sobbing (especially one scene that made me so happy I cried like a baby). I recommend this book with all my heart!” -MTC, Goodreads
“This is the best out of all the Mayhem in Mayfair books, and that’s saying a lot considering I loved the other 3 books as well. What really made this story great is the chemistry between the hero Ambrose and the heroine Marianne. They had sizzling hot chemistry, but it goes far deeper than that. I enjoyed seeing each character blossom throughout the story. Ambrose from being uptight and a bit of a moralistic snob as Marianne liked to call him to a man who was willing to risk anything, sacrifice anything including his morals for the woman he loved. And I very much enjoyed seeing Marianne go from being very cynical and distrustful of all men, to being outright and completely in love and devoted to the hero….This was a real page turner and although I knew they would get a happy ending, I was still racing to the end to see how that would come about… and trust me, was it ever satisfying!!! I cannot recommend this book enough.” -Pam, Goodreads
“I keep reading Callaway’s books because of the originality of her plots….Marianne is a strong woman fighting for something very precious to her and behaving in questionable ways to cover her quests. Ambrose…ohhh Ambrose how I love thee. Ambrose is the epitome of what makes Callaway heroes so endearing and romantic. I loved loved loved him. He is honorable, true, loving, and so protective of Marianne. This book was also where the whole Kent family was introduced whose stories are some of my favorites in the Heart of Enquiry series. I really enjoy the way Callaway portrays this desperate love between her characters…and the intimate scenes despite being erotic is so romantically written that you can’t help but enjoy it.” -Gilgamesha, Goodreads
“Just re-read this and still absolutely love it. I have to say, in terms of rating historical romance by steaminess, Grace Callaway gets first place. In my experience of reading hundreds of HR books by hundreds of authors, no one, NOT ONE SINGLE AUTHOR, EVEN MY FAVES LIKE KLEYPAS OR HOYT OR DARE, can write sex scenes like Callaway does.” -Sara, Goodreads
“I loved Ambrose. He is one of the best heroes ever and Marianne was a great heroine as well–very strong but nevertheless vulnerable and with some flaws. Their relationship developed slowly; although there was an instant attraction, Mrs. Callaway did not take the easy way and let them develop their feelings.” -Claudia, Goodreads
“I have read all of Grace Callaway’s books and this ranks up there with my favorites. I love the relationship between Marianne and Ambrose. Marianne has been an enigma from the first introduction in Her Husband’s Harlot and here we come to finally understand her. And Ambrose is one of those perfect romance heroes–strong, intensely passionate and over protective. Totally swoon-worthy. You will love this latest installment in the “Mayhem in Mayfair” series. And if you’ve never read them pick them up especially if you like your romance HOT and STEAMY!!” -Nancy, Goodreads
“I enjoyed this one most in the series and really it could be a standalone for its plot and H!….Not only are these books well written but this one most in particular was a great mix of history, mystery, angst and well … steamy hotness.” -Heidi, Goodreads
